Abstract

Žene i ženstvenost se promatrala i mijenjala od davnina. Neki ideali su i dalje ostali isti, no neki su se promijenili. Svrha ovog istraživanja je bila saznati jesu li se i dalje zadržali isti ideali ženstvenosti u današnjem društvu, postoje li i dalje zadane norme koje se plasiraju putem medija i koje se "treba" pridržavati te je li medijsko društvo odmaknulo od stereotipnih percipiranja žena i njezinih uloga u društvu. Fokus istraživanja se temeljio na analizi dvaju časopisa, Story i Glorije. Kao osnovnu jedinicu analize koristila se forma intervjua čime se najbolje prikazalo kako se žene i ženstevnost individualno opisuju unutar popularnih časopisa. Kvalitativnom analizom zabilježeno je da se žene, jednim dijelom, i dalje stereotipno percipiraju unutar časopisa, no s druge strane nazirao se određeni napredak. Kao bitan zaključak cijelog istraživanja stoji da mediji i dalje u velikoj mjeri nameću nerealne kriterije koje bi žene trebale zadovoljiti kako bi bile ženstvene, pri čemu su nerijetko promatrane kao seksualni objekti, no postoje minimalni pomaci u kojem je vidljivo da žene nisu samo ljepota i izgled, već se prikazuje da ženstvena žena može biti i uspješna poslovna žena kojoj nije samo jedina i glavna obaveza biti savršena majka, supruga i ljepotica.

Abstract (english)

Women and femininity have been watched and changed since ancient times. Some ideals still remain the same, but some have changed. The purpose of this research was to find out whether the same ideals of femininity in today's society were maintained, whether there are still fixed norms that are imposed through the media and which should be "adhered", and whether the media society has deviated from stereotypical perceptions of women and its roles in society. Focus research was based on the analysis of two magazines, Story and Gloria. The basic unit of analysis used the form of interviews, which best describes how women are individually described within popular journals. Qualitative analysis has shown that women, in part, are still stereotypically perceived within the journal, but on the other hand, some progress has been made. An important conclusion of the study is that the media still largely impose unrealistic criteria that women should be satisfied to be feminine, often observed as sexual objects, but there are minimal shifts that show that women are not just beauty and appearance , it is already showing that a female can be a successful business woman who is the only one and the main obligation to be a perfect mother, wife and beauty.
