Abstract

U radu je provedeno istraživanje o političkoj pismenosti srednjoškolaca u gradu Iloku. Cilj rada je ispitati razinu političkog znanja i političke participacije između učenika gimnazijskog i strukovnog programa Srednje škole Ilok. U radu se također uspoređuje i politička pismenost srednjoškolaca grada Iloka i maturanata Hrvatske. Dobiveni rezultati su pokazali kako učenici gimnazijskog programa imaju nisko političko znanje i slabo politički participiraju, no ipak više u odnosu na učenike strukovnih programa. Rezultati jasno pokazuju kako učenicima strukovnih programa u formalnom obrazovanju nedostaju predmeti kojima bi usvojili temeljno političko znanje. Usporedbom političkog znanja i političke participacije srednjoškolaca grada Iloka i maturanata Hrvatske rezultati pokazuju kako maturanti Hrvatske imaju više političkog znanja i više sudjeluju u društvenim i političkim oblicima participacije dok su srednjoškolci grada Iloka više članovi u određenim nevladinim organizacijama. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na potrebu uvođenja građanskog odgoja u formalno obrazovanje kako bi se usvojila politička znanja, vještine i vrijednosti koja su primjerena demokratskoj političkoj kulturi.

Abstract (english)

In this paper, research has been conducted about the political literacy of high school students in Ilok. The main goal of this research is to examine the level of political knowledge and political participation between the students of the Gymnasium and vocational program of High school Ilok. Furthermore, the paper also compares the political literacy of high school students in Ilok and the high school graduates in the entire Republic of Croatia. Obtained results have shown that students of Gymnasium have low political knowledge and low political engagement, but still higher than students of vocational programs. In the results, it is very obvious that students of vocational programs lack formal subjects where they would learn about fundamental political knowledge. Comparing political knowledge and political engagement of high school students in Ilok and high school graduates in the Republic of Croatia, the results have shown that Croatian graduates have more political knowledge and they are more involved in social and political forms of such engagement, while high school students in Ilok are more engaged like members of certain organizations. Concluded results of this research import on the need for civic education into the formal one, so that students can acquire knowledge, skills, and values that are appropriate to democratic political culture.
