Abstract

Mediji 21.stoljeća su važan izvor informacija. Način i obrada vijesti je ta koja formira javno mnijenje o mnogim temama, stoga na njima leži velika odgovornost jer oni kroz komunikaciju stvaraju i odražavaju shvaćanja o tome što je normalno i prihvatljivo, a što nije. Jedno od najvažnijih medija danas je internet koji mnogima služi kao pružatelj informacija o temama koje ih zanimaju. Putem njega mnoge dnevno-informativne tiskovine, televizijske i radijske postaje imaju svoje elektroničke oblike koje upotpunjuju s vijestima, događajima i drugim informacijama. Osim toga postoje i mnogi drugi internetski portali koji postoje isključivo u svojem elektroničkom obliku. Tema koju sam obrađivala u svome radu odnosi se na rodne i spolne stereotipe koji se pojavljuju na internetskim portalima. Stereotipi su danas široko rasprostranjeni, a odnose se na stavove koje ljudi formiraju o određenim pojedincima ili grupama ljudi obično u negativnom kontekstu. Oni su duboko ukorijenjeni u današnje društvo i stoga ih je gotovo nemoguće ukloniti, a upravo su mediji ti koji ih dodatno pojačavaju i utvrđuju. U radu su obrađeni članci u kojima su se pojavljivali rodni i spolni stereotipi na hrvatskim portalima Večernji.hr i Index.hr u razdoblju od 1. veljače, 2016 -14. veljače, 2016., a analizom je potvrđeno da se stereotipi na hrvatskim portalima pojavljuju vrlo često, pri čemu su žene te koje se obično nalaze u stereotipnim situacijama.

Abstract (english)

Media of 21. century are important source of information. The way in which the news are produced and arranged is what forms public opinion about various topics, so they have huge responisbility. Through communication they create and reflect understanding about what is normal and acceptable and what is not. One of the most important medium today is Internet which serves as an information provider to many people. Through Internet many daily newspapers, television and radio stations have their own online forms which they implement with news, events and other information. There are also many other online websites which exist only in their electronic form. Thematic field covered in this paper refers to sex and gender stereotypes which can be seen on internet websites. Stereotypes today are widely spread. They refer to opinion people form about other individuals or groups of people usually in negative context. Stereotypes are deeply implemented in todays society and because of that it is almost impossible to remove them, especially since media are the ones which are enhancing and affirming them. Research in this paper covered articles from Croatian websites Večernji.hr and Index.hr in which sex and gender stereotypes could be noticed. Through the period of 14 days, from 1st February, 2016. till 14th February, 2016., analysis confirmed that stereotypes on Croatian Websites appear on a daily basis whereat women are the ones usually found in a stereotypical situations.
