Abstract

Cilj ovog rada je naći poveznicu između reality televizije i politike, te zašto se ta dva koncepta danas uopće mogu povezati s obzirom na to da su po svojoj prirodi i karakteristikama inače vrlo različiti. Metoda koju sam prilikom istraživanja koristio je studija slučaja. Prvo sam, proučavanjem pojmova reality televizije i celebrity politike zasebno, identificirao eventualne sličnosti među njima, a koje mogu biti dio odgovora na glavno pitanje ovog rada. Daljnje moguće odgovore tražio sam na širim područjima. Najprije kroz proučavanje današnjih medija i promjena koje su ih zadesile, a zatim i u novim društvenim trendovima i popularnoj kulturi, što također može dodatno osvijetliti razloge zbog kojih se reality televizija i politika danas mogu povezivati. Na temelju novih spoznaja, identificirao sam moguće odgovore, odnosno, uočio sam određene elemente koji povezuju reality televiziju i politiku, i potom sam predstavio potpuno novi koncept - reality politiku. Na kraju sam na primjeru obitelji Kardashian, najpoznatije reality obitelji današnjice, i nekoliko slučajeva njihovog uključivanja u politiku i rješavanje društvenih problema, konkretno prikazao što je reality politika i pojasnio u čemu leži njena moć. Time sam ujedno i odgovorio na pitanja 'što povezuje reality televiziju i politiku', 'zašto se ti koncepti danas mogu toliko približiti' i 'što to danas tu vezu čini tako snažnom'.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this paper is to find the relation between reality television and politics and also to perceive why are these two concepts so close together nowadays. It is important to find that connection, since reality television and politics are, by their nature, fairly different. The scientific method that I used for this purpose was a case study. Firstly, I studied both concepts (reality television and celebrity politics) separately, in order to detect if there are any similarities between them that could, at least partially, answer the most important question of this paper. I continued to seek answers by researching wider areas. Mainly, I studied today's media and the changes that they went through, and then I switched to popular culture and new trends in today's society. That can too, I argue, make this connection between reality television and politics clearer. Based on the findings, I identified several possible answers, that is, I noticed certain elements that can lead to the connection of reality television and politics, so I introduced a whole new concept of real politics. In the end, I took the Kardashian family and a few cases of their political and social activism, as an example on which I wanted to show what real politics is and also to explain its power. With that, I answered the following questions; 'what is the relationship between reality television and politics, 'why are these concepts that close today' and 'what makes that relationship so strong and thriving'.
