Abstract

Podcasti su digitalne audio ili video datoteke koje izlaze u epizodama, mogu se preuzeti automatski ili manualno, programski su usmjerene i lako dostupne, najčešće preko automatskog feeda, poput RSS-a. Zanimljivo je da su i prvotni znanstveni radovi i definicije podcasta uvijek pozornost usmjeravale na samu tehnologiju, dok se kasnijim razvitkom u fokus više stavljaju nove kulturološke prakse koje potiče podcasting. Dok se u Hrvatskoj tek počela razvijati podcasting scena, u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama je podcast već ušao u mainstream, a prekretnicu čini prva sezona Seriala. Podcasti su poslužili kao pravo osvježenje u doba clickbaita i senzacionalističkih i površnih sadržaja, a osim toga nude iskreniji i opušteniji pristup. U Hrvatskoj se podcasting scena počela polako širiti 2017. godine, predvodnici su Podcast inkubator i Surove strasti. Podcasteri u Hrvatskoj bave se podcastima na volonterskoj bazi i iz hobija, a rijetki su oni sa stabilnijim izvorom financiranja. Među hrvatskim podcasterima dominira razgovorni format – voditelji razgovaraju sa sugovornicima o određenim temama, a većina kao glavni kanal distribucije koristi YouTube.

Abstract (english)

Podcasts are digital audio or video files that are published in episodes. Podcasts can be downloaded automatically or manually, they are program-oriented and easily accessible, most commonly through an automated feed, such as RSS. Interestingly, the first scientific articles and the definitions of podcasts have always focused on the technology itself, while later developments have focused more on new cultural practices that podcasting encourages. While the podcasting network has just begun to develop in Croatia, in the United States the podcast has already entered the mainstream, with the first season of podcast Serial as a turning point. Podcasts have served as a real refreshment in the age of clickbait and sensationalist and shallow content, and in addition, they offer a more honest and informal approach. In Croatia, podcasting began to expand slowly in 2017, led by the Podcast incubator and Surove strasti. Podcasters in Croatia work on podcasts on a volunteer basis and as a hobby while those with a more stable source of funding are rare. Croatian podcasters are dominated by interviews - hosts talk to guests about certain topics and most use YouTube as their main distribution channel.
