Abstract

Diplomski rad Etičnost izvještavanja o femicidima na portalima index.hr, 24sata.hr i večernji.hr imao je za cilj prikazati kako se na navedenim portalima izvještavalo o femicidima u razdoblju od 1. siječnja 2019. do 31. prosinca 2020. godine te ustanoviti jesu li se pridržavali odredbi Kodeksa časti hrvatskih novinara. Metoda koja se koristila prilikom istraživanja bila je analiza sadržaja na uzorku od ukupno 273 članka uključujući i grafičku opremu članka. Do članaka se došlo uz pomoć ključnih riječi „ubojstvo žene“, „ubojstvo djevojke“ te „femicid“, a istraživanje se radilo prema analitičkoj matrici koja je sadržavala 24 klasifikacijske kategorije.
Istraživanjem se nastojalo ustanoviti kakav je tip naslova u člancima, koja se grafička oprema koristila u članku, što prikazuju fotografije, otkriva li se identitet žrtve i počinitelja, je li fokus samo na događaju ili je fokus na problemu općenito, koriste li se citati u naslovu, postoji li clickbait naslov, otkrivaju li se privatni detalji žrtve i počinitelja te navode li se razlozi ubojstva.
Istraživanje je pokazalo da ima razlike u izvještavanju između navedenih portala te da index.hr i 24sata.hr često temi pristupaju senzacionalistički za razliku od portala večernji.hr. U fokus se često stavljaju razlozi ubojstva te se otkriva identitet žrtve i počinitelja. Ako se to ne radi direktno imenom i prezimenom, često je slučaj da se on otkriva mjestom zločina, inicijalima ili identitetom nekoga od članova obitelji. Nadalje, o femicidu se češće izvještava kao o specifičnim slučajevima nego kao o problemu općenito. Izvori u člancima su u najvećim slučajevima policija, drugi mediji, sudstvo te susjedi, a temi se ne pristupa analitički i sustavno. Niti u jednom članku se nisu navodile informacije o pomoći žrtvama, a više od polovice članaka sadržavalo je detaljan opis zločina.

Abstract (english)

The master’s thesis Ethics in Reporting on Femicides on News Websites Index.hr, 24sata.hr and Večernji.hr aimed to show how the named news portals reported on the topic in the period from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2020 and whether they complied with the provisions of the Croatian Journalists Code of Honor. The method used in the research was content analysis on a sample of a total of 273 articles including the graphic design of the article. The articles were obtained through keywords “murder of a woman”, “murder of a girl” and “femicide”, and the research was conducted according to an analytical matrix that contained 24 classification categories.
The research sought to determine the type of headlines in the articles, used graphic design, subject of the photographs, whether the identity of the victim and the perpetrator is revealed, whether the focus is only on the event or the problem in general, whether citations in the headline are used, whether there is a clickbait headline, whether the private information on the victim and the perpetrator are revealed, and whether the reasons for the murder are stated.
The research has shown that there are differences in reporting between the mentioned news portals and that index.hr and 24sata.hr often have a sensationalist approach as opposed to the web portal vecernji.hr. The focus is often on the reasons for the murder and the identity of the victim and the perpetrator is revealed. If this is not done directly by name and surname, it is often the case that it is revealed through the crime scene, initials or identity of a family member. Furthermore, femicide is more often reported as a specific case than as a problem in general. The sources in the articles are in most cases the police, other media, the judiciary and neighbors, and the topic is not approached analytically and objectively. None of the articles provided information on help for the victims, and more than half of the articles contained a detailed description of the crime.
