Abstract

Rapalski ugovor i Rimski ugovor predstavljaju dva načina rješavanja Riječkog pitanja i Jadranskog pitanja čije su pravne posljedice vrlo široko istražene. Političke posljedice Rapalskog i Rimskog ugovora su puno slabije istražene od državnopravnih i teritorijalnih posljedica Rapalskog i Rimskog ugovora zbog politizacije i ideologizacije koje popraćuju istraživanje ove vrlo kontroverzne, gotovo tabu teme. Cilj ovog rada je definiranje političkih posljedica Rapalskog i Rimskog ugovora na Rijeku i Hrvatsku bez pristajanja uz vrlo isključive narative koje nude istraživači koji su dosada obrađivali ovu temu bazirano na svom političkom opredjeljenju, što je bilo česta pojava u razdoblju odmah nakon potpisivanja Rapalskog i Rimskog ugovora zbog sklonosti autora iredentizmu. Rad pojedinačno razmatra političke posljedice dvaju ugovora poput političke i kulturne asimilacije Slavena, slabljenja političkog utjecaja Kraljevine Srba, Hrvata i Slovenaca u svjetskoj političkoj i diplomatskoj areni, porasta političkog nasilja u Rijeci, političkog frakcioniranja riječkog političkog tijela i stvaranje novog političkog organa odlučivanja u Rijeci.

Abstract (english)

The Treaty of Rapallo and the Treaty of Rome represent two ways of resolving the Rijeka question and the Adriatic question, whose legal consequences have been very widely studied. The political consequences of the Treaty of Rapallo and the Treaty of Rome have been significantly less researched compared to the legal, formal and territorial consequences of the Treaty of Rapallo and Rome. That is due to the politicization and ideologisation that accompanies academic research on this highly controversial, borderline taboo topic. The aim of this paper is to define the political consequences of the Treaty of Rapallo and the Treaty of Rome on Rijeka and Croatia without agreeing to the very exclusive narratives offered by researchers who have dealt with this topic based on their political affiliation which was often due to author's propensity for irredentism. The paper discusses the political consequences of the two treaties, such as the political and cultural assimilation of Slavs, the weakening political influence of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in the global political and diplomatic arena, the rise of political violence in Rijeka, the political factionalism of the Rijeka voting body and the making of a new political body in Rijeka.
