Abstract

Živimo u svijetu razvijenih šifriranih aplikacija koje služe za širenje radikaliziranih informacija kako izvršiti zlodjela koja su samo na jedan klik daleko od nas. Danas nije više pitanje da li će se teroristički napad desiti, pitanje je samo kada i gdje će se desiti, a najvažnije je pitanje što se može učiniti da bi se ta situacija izbjegla. Nedavni teorijski i empirijski razvoj pokazao je spremnost globalnog društva da prevaziđe ovaj problem. Tema ove teze su terorizam i radicalizacija prikazani kroz već postojeće studije i literaturu iz različitih dijelova Europe kroz različite društvene, vjerske, etničke i druge skupine. Protuterorističke politike i strategije Europske Unije kreirane su kao odgovor na dešavanja unutar EU ali isto tako i dešavanja na internacionalnoj razini. Teme koje su predmet ove teze dio su dugoročnog nastojanja EU u kreiranju studija u cilju sprovođenja borbe protiv terorizma i radikalizacije. Regulatorni pristup Europske Unije u prevenciji terorizma je značajan korak naprijed u rješavanju ovog rastućeg problema koji ima utjecaj na sve EU građane. Regulacija stupa na snagu od 7.6.2022. godine, te predstavlja okvir za sprovođenje borbe protiv širenja terorističkog sadržaja na internetu.

Abstract (english)

We live in a world of developed encrypted apps for spreading instructions virtually on how to execute atrocities all over the globe which are just one click away from happening again. Today it is not a question if terroristic attacks will happen, the questions are where and when will they happen, but the most important question here is: what can be done in order to prevent it? Recent theoretical and empirical developments have showed the willingness of the global society to put this problem to an end. This thesis discusses the challenges of terrorism and radicalisation in light of already existing research and literature from different parts of Europe where it is commonly explored in regard to specific social, religious, ethnic, national or other groups. The EU counter-terrorism policies and strategies are created as an answer to events happening at the internal EU level but also events happening internationally. These topics have been on the agenda of the European Union for a long time, and various studies have already been done on the EU efforts in fighting terrorism and radicalisation. The EU regulatory approach in preventing terrorism is a large and significant step towards addressing and solving the problem of growing threat which affects the EU citizens. The Regulation applies as of 7th June 2022 and represents a framework which was conducted in order to prevent the dissemination of terrorist content online.
