Abstract

Kraljevske obitelji u kontekstu celebrity politike nisu dovoljno istražene i može se reći da one predstavljaju svojevrstan fenomen unutar fenomena. Stoga, kako bi se otkrio doprinos suvremenoj celebrity politici važno je otkriti obilježja njihove komunikacije. Studija slučaja kao metodologija ovoga rada omogućava da se uzimanjem u obzir povijesnog konteksta donesu određeni zaključci o prirodi fenomena. Slučajevi prikazani u ovome radu pokazuju da je kraljevska obitelj Velike Britanije sklonija popularizaciji kao strategiji unutar celebrity politike, a slučaj Danske pokazuje da je zbog razvijenog egalitarizma u danskom društvu, kraljevska obitelj sklonija strategiji humanizacije, odnosno teži tome da se prikaže kao obična obitelj koja je u doticaju sa stvarnosti i izgleda kao svaka druga obitelj. To nikako ne isključuje mnoštvo drugih tehnika kojima se služe, ali svakako daje jedan doprinos razumijevanju njihovog odnosa sa celebrity politikom. Ono najvažnije je da su kraljevske obitelji specifičan slučaj celebrity politike jer kraljičina politička moć proizlazi iz njezine simboličke moći. Celebrity moć jest simbolička moć, a kraljica se njome koristi prirodnije od drugih. Upravo, kao i klasični celebrity, ne mora ulagati iznimne napore kako bi bila obožavana. Za razliku od nje izabrani političari se moraju kontinuirano truditi kako bi dostigli celebrity status, a onda ulagati velike napore kako bi taj status i zadržali. Na kraju, specifičan je slučaj jer su teoretičari celebrity politike do sada kao aktere navodili najčešće političare u tradicionalnom smislu, ali ovaj slučaj pokazuje državu kao glavnog nositelja celebrity politike, odnosno kraljevsku obitelj kao njezinog prezentera koji je popularizira i personificira u odnosu na druge države.

Abstract (english)

The royal families in the context of celebrity politics have not been explored enough and it can be said that they represent a unique phenomenon within phenomenon. Therefore, in order to discover the contribution to the contemporary celebrity politics, it is important to discover the characteristics of their communications. Case study as a methodology of this paper allows taking into account the historical context to make certain conclusions on the nature of the phenomenon. The cases presented in this paper show that the royal family of Great Britain aspire to popularization as a strategy within the celebrity politics, and the case of Denmark shows that because of the developed egalitarianism in the Danish society, the royal family aspires to humanization as a strategy and seeks to portray themselves as an ordinary family in touch with reality and looks like any other family. This does not exclude a host of other techniques they use, but it certainly provided a contribution to the understanding of their relationship with the celebrity politicians. The most important thing is that the royal families are specific case of celebrity politics because the Queen’s political power stems from her symbolic power. Celebrity power is symbolic power, and the queen is using it in more natural way than others. Rather, as well as classic celebrity, she does not have to invest much effort in order to be worshiped. Unlike her, elected politicians must continually strive to achieve celebrity status, and then invest a lot of effort to maintain this status. Finally, they are specific case because the theorists of celebrity politics usually indicate elected politicians as main actors, but this case shows the state as the bearer of celebrity politics, or the royal family as its presenter who popularized and personified a state, in comparison to other countries.
