Abstract

Novinarska profesija u Hrvatskoj je konstantna tema znanstvenih i akademskih istraživanja, a opet toliko neistražena tema. Razlog toga je u tome što se medijski trendovi i medijska okolina učestalo mijenja te provedena istraživanja ubrzo mogu postati nerelevantna. U Hrvatskoj su se do sada istraživali samo stavovi javnosti o novinarstvu te su česte analize sadržaja kojima su u fokusu dnevne novine i njihove etičke pogreške. No, reprezentativna istraživanja hrvatskih novinara i urednika gotovo i ne postoje. Stoga, u ovom radu donosimo istraživanje novinarske profesije provedeno putem intervjua glavnih urednika Večernjeg lista i 24sata. U radu se ispituju neke od glavnih tema koje se odnose na današnje novinarstvo unutar hrvatskih dnevnih novina poput kvalitete novinarstva, etike i slobode dnevnih novina, potencijalnih utjecaja na urednike i sadržaj novina te aktualne medijske trendove koji se nalaze u dnevnim novinama. Kroz odgovore glavnih urednika provjerit će se njihova percepcija o stanju u novinarskoj profesiji te će se na temelju njihovih odgovora ispitati šest postavljenih hipoteza rada. Time će se prikazati dosada neistražena strana novinarstva, strana samih profesionalaca.

Abstract (english)

The journalistic profession in Croatia has been a constant theme of scientific and academic research and in the same time there is a lot of unknown issues about that profession. Because of media trends and media environment, which changes frequently, all present research could soon become irrelevant. So far, in Croatia there are only research of public opinion and how audience sees Croatian journalists and journalistic profession. Also, there exsists a lot of content analysis which are focused on daily newspapers and their ethical errors. Representative research of Croatian journalists and editors don't really exist. Therefore, in this research, we will explore the journalistic profession through interviews of chief editors in two Croatian daily newspapers - Večernji list and 24sata. Further, this paper examines some of the main topics that are related to today's journalism in Croatian daily newspapers. Some of topics are: quality of journalism, ethics and freedom of newspaper, potential impact on editors, impact on newspaper's content and current media trends that can be found in today's daily newspapers. Through collected answers of chief editors, we will elaborate their perception of the journalistic profession. Also, based on their responses, we will analyse our six hypotheses of this research. This paper will present so far unexplored side of Croatian journalism, the side of journalistic professionals.
