Abstract

Četvrti ukrajinski predsjednik, Viktor Janukovič, dolazi na mjesto predsjednika 2010. godine. Za razliku od svojeg prethodnika, Viktora Juščenka, koji je pokazao demokratičniju vladavinu, Janukovičeva administracija usvojila je autoritarnu politiku koja ju je ideološki udaljila od Europske unije. Janukovičeva neodlučna vanjska politika stvorila je destabilizacijski potencijal koji je prouzročio masovne demonstracije zbog kojih je Janukovič odstupio s vlasti. Rad tematizira sve aspekte Janukovičevog dolaska na vlast i vladavine koja je obilježena korupcijom, medijskom opresijom i negativnim odnosom prema oporbi. Dominacija oligarhijske infrastrukture i rad Stranke regija esencijalan su dio razumijevanja Janukovičeve vladavine.

Abstract (english)

The fourth Ukrainian president, Viktor Yanukovych, comes to the post of president in 2010. Unlike its predecessor, Viktor Yushchenko, known for his democratic tendencies, Yanukovich's administration adopted an authoritarian policy that experienced some ideological crisis with the European Union. Yanukovych's indecisive foreign policy has created a destabilizing potential that caused massive demonstrations for which Yanukovych has stepped down as president. This thesis focuses on all aspects of Yanukovich's coming to power and his presidency filled with corruption, media oppression and negative additude toward opposition. Domination of oligarchic infrastructure and work of the Party of Regions are essential for understanding Yanukovych's rule.
