Abstract

Cilj rada bio je istražiti motivaciju anonimnog komentiranja na portalu index.hr, i saznati u kojem se postotku anonimni komentari pojavljuju. Glavne teorijske postavke ovog rada temelje se u teoriji spirale šutnje Noelle-Neumann i tezi o online inhibicijskom efektu Johna Sulera. Analizom sadržaja analizirano je 412 komentara s portala index.hr. Provedeno je i anketno istraživanje s ciljem istraživanja motivacije anonimnog komentiranja. Rezultati potvrđuju teze teorije spirale šutnje budući da se pokazalo da korisnici koriste anonimne profile prilikom komentiranja zbog straha od izolacije. Anonimni korisnici se vulgarnije izražavaju što odgovara drugoj teorijskoj pretpostavci o online inhibicijskom efektu.

Abstract (english)

The purpose of this paper was to research the motivation behind anonymous comments on the index.hr web portal and to see in what percentage are the comments anonymously written. The paper is theoretically based on Noelle-Neumann's spiral of silence theory and John Suler's online disinhibition effect. I've used content analysis to analyse 412 comments from the index.hr web portal. A survey research followed with the aim of researching the motivation behind anonymously written comments. The research showed that individuals comment anonymously because of the fear of isolation, thus confirming the spiral of silence theory. Also, anonymous users will use more vulgar language compared to their non-anonymous counterparts which is in line with the second theoretical premise – the online disinhibition effect.
