Abstract

The thesis explores perception of Croatian civil society actors’ about party politics. Based on the qualitative data elicited through the in-depth interviews with a group of advocacy-focused nongovernmental organization activists, the thesis sheds light on perceived characteristics of civil society’s relations with the state, perception regarding political parties, politicians, and assessment of possibilities for NGOs’ entrance into party politics. The research shows importance of expertise, autonomy and public credibility for civil society actors. Furthermore, it uncovers preconceptions on imminent characteristics of party politics held among them.

Abstract (croatian)

U radu se istražuje percepcija aktera hrvatskog civilnog društva o stranačkoj politici. Utemeljeno na kvalitativnim podacima prikupljenima kroz dubinske intervjue s aktivistima zagovaračkih udruga, rad upućuje na percipirane karakteristike odnosa civilnog društva s državom, percepciju o političkim strankama i političarima te ocjenu mogućnosti za ulazak u stranačku politiku. Istraživanje pokazuje važnost koju stručnost, autonomija i javni kredibilitet imaju za civilno društvo. Također, otkriva duboko usađene pretpostavke u civilnom društvu o imanentnim karakteristikama stranačke politike.
