Abstract

EU je prošle, 2016., godine pretrpjela možda i najveće promjene od svog osnutka.
Iako je i ranije bilo previranja, ipak se toliko važnih stvari nije dogodilo u samo godini dana.
Sve one prijete opstanku zajednice, zamišljene kao savez ravnopravnih naroda koja će svima
jamčiti mir i blagostanje. Odluka britanskih birača o izlasku iz EU, terorizam, izostanak
suglasnosti u suočavanju s migrantskom krizom, porast euroskepticizma i sve veći utjecaj
ekstremne desnice obilježili su 2016. godinu. Zato je mnogi ocjenjuju kao annus horribilis,141,
no na ekonomskom planu ona i nije bila tako loša za EU, pošto su se pojavili prvi znaci
gospodarskog oporavka.
No, ipak jeBrexitzadao najveći udarac imidžu i atraktivnosti Unije. Ako Uniju napušta
jedna od najuspješnijih država, 142 znači da su Britanci izrazito nezadovoljni europskom
politikom. 143 Strah od nekontrolirane imigracije igubitka suvereniteta prevladali su nad
raznim upozorenjima na gospodarske nedaće koje ih očekuju ako se odluče na
samostalnost.144 Posljedice Brexita u Irskoj mogle bi biti teže nego u samoj Britaniji zbog
njihove ovisnosti o trgovinis UK-om. Zatim, na udaru bi mogle biti i zemlje Beneluxa, dok bi
utjecaj na Njemačku bio prilično ograničen pošto njihove proizvodne djelatnosti imaju brojna
tržišta diljem Unije, a ne samo u Britaniji.145
Brexitje privukao pozornost milijun građana, točnije euroskeptika, diljem Unije koje je
globalizacija ostavila na marginama društva i koji ne vide nikakve koristi od britanske etničke
raznolikosti i slobodnog tržišta.

Abstract (english)

The EU in the past year, 2016. suffered perhaps the biggest change since its creation.
Although formed of shocks, many important things happened during the year. All those
events threatened the survival of the community, conceived as a Union of equal people which
would guarantee all peace and prosperity. The decision of theBritsh votersabout leaving the
EU, terrorism, the lack of agreement on the subject of migrant crisis, the growth of
euroskepticisim and the increasing influence of extreme right - wing pointed us in 2016. year.
So many see as annus horribilis, but in economic terms it was not so bad for the EU, as the
first signs of economic recovery started to show.
But, nevertheless, Brexit inflicted the greatest blow to the image and attractiveness of
the Union. If one of the most successful countries leaves the Union, that shows that the British
people are extremely dissatisfied with the policy of the EU. The fear of uncontrolled
immigration and loss of sovereignty were greater than the various warnings of economic
hardships that await them if they opt for independence. The consequences of Brexit in Ireland,
can be tougher in the UK because of their dependence on trade with Britain. Other then that,
Benelux may be threathened by it while the impact on Germany was very limited, because
their production activities have nomerous markets all over Europe.
Brexit attracted the attention of milion of citizens, rather euroskeptics, throughout the
Union which were left on the margins of society by globalization and who do not see any
benefits from the British ethnic diversity and free market.
