Abstract

Cilj ovog rada je analizirati asimetriju sjećanja uzrokovanu Građanskim ratom i četrdesetogodišnjom diktaturom Francisca Franca koji je putem politika povijesti, s ciljem konsolidiranja ideologije režima, provodio sistematsku politiku brisanja republikanskog sjećanja i podvrgavanja poraženih (vencidos) na zaborav vlastite povijesti koristeći se pritom trima stupovima vlasti: falangom, Crkvom i vojskom. Francovom smrću 1975. započinje demokratska tranzicija koja se temelji na Sporazumu šutnje (Pacto de Silencio), odnosno zaborava, a kao cilj ističe nacionalnu pomirbu. Početak suočavanja s prošlošću i obnavljanja sjećanja započinje tek s novim stoljećem, posebno nakon Zakona o sjećanju (Ley de Memoria) koji po prvi puta zahtjeva službenu osudu Francovog režima i javnog priznanja i oštećenja žrtvama. Međutim, izostat će provođenje tranzicijske pravde, odnosno otkrivanja potpune istine o Građanskom ratu i Diktaturi, procesuiranje zločina i reparacija žrtava, koje su uvjet za stvaranje demokratskog građanskog sjećanja.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this paper is to analyse the asymmetry of memory caused by the Civil war and Francisco Franco’s almost forty-year long dictatorship which, while using the politics of memory and with purpose of consolidating the regime’s ideology, conducted systematic politics of erasing republican memory and subduing defeated (vencidos) to forget their own history while using three columns of government: Falange, Church and military. Democratic transition based on the Pact of Forgetting (Pacto de Silencio) started with Franco’s death in 1975 and emphasised national reconciliation as its goal. The beginning of dealing with the past and restoring memories starts only with the new century, especially after the Historical Memory Law (Ley de Memoria) that, for the first time, demands the official condemnation of the Franco’s regime and public recognition and retribution of victims. However, the implementation of transitional justice will be omitted, i.e. discovering the complete truth about the Civil War and the dictatorship, crime processing and victim reparation which are a condition for the creation of democratic civil memory.
