Abstract

Rad se bavi bilateralnim odnosima Republike Hrvatske sa susjednim zemljama, ali i ulogom koju bi Hrvatska trebala zauzeti naspram neintegriranih susjednih zemalja. Republika Hrvatska graniči s ukupno šest zemalja od koji se samo dvije – Srbija te Bosna i Hercegovina nisu uspjele integrirati u euroatlantske organizacije, dok je Crna Gora ulaskom u NATO pokazala kako je sve bliže tome da u potpunosti ostvari taj cilj. Osnovna svrha istraživanja bila je pokazati kako se Hrvatska neće uspjeti nametnuti kao uzor neintegriranim susjednim zemljama na njihovom putu prema međunarodnim organizacijama i EU. Kako bi se dokazala ova teza u radu se navode brojni primjeri neslaganja Hrvatske s neintegriranim zemljama, a posebice sa Srbijom koja još uvijek nije riješila mnoga osjetljiva pitanja iz razdoblja rata, kao ni aktualno pitanje vezano uz Kosovo. Primjena komparativne metode dizajna istraživanja omogućila je usporedbu integriranog i neintegriranog dijela te prikaz bilateralnog odnosa Hrvatske sa svakom pojedinom zemljom iz oba komparirana dijela. Usporedba je pokazala kako je Hrvatska u smislu političkih interesa te zajedničkih politika i problema ipak bliža integriranim zemljama s kojima održava korektne i dobrosusjedske odnose. Izuzetak je Slovenija s kojim Hrvatska ima dugogodišnji neriješeni granični spor na moru. Ovakvi primjeri dokazuju kako će Hrvatska još dugo biti rubna zemlja koja će EU dijeliti od Zapadnog Balkana.

Abstract (english)

This thesis deals with bilateral relations of Republic of Croatia with neighbouring countries and also with the role of Croatia in region. Republic of Croatia borders with total six countries, of which only two – Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina did not succeed to integrate into Euro – Atlantic organisations, while Montenegro already entered the NATO which shows that this country is very close to achive that goal. The main purpose of this research was to show that Croatia will not succeed to impose itself as a role model to non integrated neighbouring countries on their way to international organizations. In order to confirm this thesis, in research are mentioned numerous examples of croatian disagreements with non integrated countries, especially the one with Serbia, which still has not managed to resolve many sensitive questions from the war period, as same as the actual problem with Kosovo. The use of comparative method enabled comparison between integrated and non integrated parts and it also provided the review of bilateral relation of Croatia with every single country from both compared parts. According to political interests, commom politics and problems, comparison showed that Croatia is closer to integrated countries with whom Croatia has correct and good neighbourly relations. Exception is Slovenia with whom Croatia has longtime border dispute on the see which still is not solved. These examples prove that Croatia will be the edge country for a long time, which will separate the EU from Western Balkans.
