Abstract

Mediji kao kreatori društvene stvarnosti, pri izvještavanju trebaju poštivati etičke kodekse novinarstva kako bi što uspješnije odradili svoju zadaću - pravovaljano informirati javnost. Tema seksualnog zlostavljanja društvo je važna i o njoj mediji trebaju izvještavati, no vrlo je bitno na koji način to raditi. Fokus ovog rada je otkriti kako su mediji izvještavali o seksualnom zlostavljanju Harveya Weinsteina, slavnog filmskog producenta čiji su postupci zgrozili, kako Hollywood, tako i cijeli svijet. U radu su analizirani naslovi tri internetska portala, dva hrvatska - Jutarnji list i Večernji list, te jedan američki - New York Times. Kvantitativnom metodom analize sadržaja nastoji se utvrditi je li medijski sadržaj o seksualnom zlostavljanju na slučaju Harveya Weinsteina prikazan senzacionalistički te utječe li takav medijskih sadržaj negativno na percepciju žena u društvu.

Abstract (english)

The media as creators of social reality, should respect the ethical codes of journalism in their reporting in order to make their job more successfully - to validly inform the public. The subject of sexual abuse is serious and the media should report it, but important is way of doing it. The focus of this paper is to reveal how the media reported on the sexual harassment of Harvey Weinstein, a famous film producer whose actions shocked Hollywood, as well as the whole world. The paper analyzes the titles of three internet portals, two Croatian - Jutarnji list and Večernji list, and one American - New York Times. The quantitative method of content analysis seeks to determine whether the media content of sexual abuse in Harvey Weinstein's case is sensationalistic and whether such media content negatively affects the perception of women in society.
