Abstract

Završetkom Drugog svjetskog rata započinje proces europskih integracija s idejom da se bivši neprijatelji povežu kako bi se održao mir i stabilnost u Europi razdvojenoj hladnoratovskom podjelom na Istočnu i Zapadnu. Sredinom osamdesetih godina dvadesetog stoljeća dolazi do trenutka kada treba odlučiti hoće li se napraviti korak dalje u integracijama i pretvoriti dosadašnju ekonomsku i carinsku uniju u političku uniju. Upravo u tom razdoblju događaju se velike promjene u hladnoratovskom sukobu i nazire se kraj bipolarne podjele svijeta, dok se u Europi pokušava stvoriti jedan potpuno novi politički model suradnje među državama. Lavina promjena u istočnom bloku dovodi do završetka Hladnoga rata, a europske integracije ubrzavaju kako bi se kontinent ponovno ujedinio kroz zajedničke europske strukture.

Abstract (english)

With the end of the Second World War, the process of European integration started with the idea of joining the former enemies in order to maintain peace and stability in Europe divided by the Cold War into the East and West. In the mid-eighties of the twentieth century, it comes to the moment when it is necessary to decide whether to make a step further in the integration process and to transform the current economic and customs union into the political union. It is during this period that great changes are taking place in the Cold War conflict and the end of the bipolar division of the world is evident, while a completely new model of cooperation between states is trying to be created in Europe. The wave of change in the Eastern Bloc leads to the end of the Cold War, and European Integration is accelerated in order to reunite the continent through common European structures.
