Abstract

Pitanja veza za LGBT zajednicu postaju sve značajniji dio u političkim diskursima diljem svijeta. Dok u nekim državama, pretežno u onima na Zapadu, dolazi do unaprjeđenja prava LGBT osoba kroz legalizaciju istospolnih brakova i provođenja zakona protiv diskriminacije, u Rusiji se događa suprotno. Stoga, kroz ovaj rad se istražuje pitanje kako su konzervativne politike ruske vlade utjecale na narušavanje prava LGBT osoba u Rusiji. Posljednjih nekoliko godina Zakon o stranim agentima i Zakon o anti-gay propagandi su postali glavni razlozi za narušavanje prava LGBT zajednice u Rusiji. Uz provođenje tih zakona visoka razina homofobija u državi je rezultirala situacijom u kojoj je LGBT osobama i organizacijama teško organizirati pokrete za borbu za LGBT prava zbog zakonskih ograničenja i nedostatka podrške.

Abstract (english)

Questions regarding the LGBT community are becoming an increasingly more significant part in political discourses all across the world. While in some countries, mainly in the western ones, there has been an improvement of LGBT rights through same-sex marriage legalisation and implementation of laws against discrimination. The opposite has been happening in Russia. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to explore the question of how did conservative politics of the Russian government contribute to the violation of LGBT rights in Russia. For the past few years, Foreign Agent Law and Anti-Gay Propaganda Law have become the main cause of the violation of LGBT rights in Russia. Alongside those laws, the high level of homophobia in the country has had resulted in a situation wherein LGBT people and organisations have a hard time organizing movements for LGBT rights due to many legal restrictions and the lack of support.
