Abstract

U radu se analiziraju rodni stereotipi likova u humorističnoj seriji Bitange i princeze. Istraživanjem je obuhvaćen uzorak od 15 epizoda serije, a cilj je bio potvrditi postojanje rodnih stereotipa te istaknuti učestalost njihove pojave kod muškaraca i žena. Također, cilj je bio potvrditi da postoje razlike u reprezentaciji muških i ženskih likova po pitanju tema o kojima razgovaraju, njihovih emocija, poslova koje obavljaju, dokazati da se žene u seriji prikazuju manje inteligentnima nego muškarci te istražiti tko češće iskazuje sekzizam, nameće moć ili se koristi nasiljem. Metodom kvantitativne analize utvrđena je prisutnost rodnih stereotipa i njihova raznovrsnost, dok je kvalitativnom interpretacijom i raspravom potvrđeno da glavni likovi iskazuju stereotipno ponašanje u svom djelovanju i u muško-ženskim odnosima. Pokazalo se da su muški likovi prikazani inteligentnijima od žena, da su agresivni, uspješni i snalažljivi, dok su žene prikazane kao nježne, emocionalne i submisivne. Prema rezultatima, muške likove se prikazuje i kao veće seksiste koji se koriste nasiljem, dok su žene prikazane submisivnima i histeričnima.

Abstract (english)

This paper analyzes gender stereotypes of characters in the comedy series Bitange i Princeze. The research included a sample of 15 episodes of the series, and the goal was to confirm the existence of gender stereotypes and highlight the frequency of their occurrence in men and women. Also, the goal was to confirm that there are stereotypical male-female relationships to the damage of women, and that women in the series are portrayed as less intelligent than men. The quantitative analysis method established the presence of gender stereotypes and their variety, while the qualitative analysis confirmed that the main characters exhibit stereotypical behavior in their actions and in male-female relationships. Male characters are shown to be more intelligent than women, to be aggressive, successful and resourceful, while women are portrayed as gentle, emotional and submissive. According to the results, male characters are depicted as more sexists and use violence, while women are depicted as submissive and hysterical.
