Abstract

U radu je predstavljen, u geopolitičkoj znanosti, dosad nepoznat pojam geopolitike društvenih mreža. Sjecište praktične i popularne geopolitike, kao varijanti kritičke geopolitike, uzeto je za središnji teorijski okvir prilikom analize tvitova Vlade Republike Hrvatske u smislu komunikacije o bilateralnim odnosima sa susjednim zemljama. S obzirom na nepostojanje istraživanja u smislu geopolitike društvenih mreža, osmišljen je metodološki pristup istraživanja komunikacije o susjednim zemljama u smislu definiranih geopolitičkih pojmova i u smislu diskurzivnih kategorija definiranih kontekstom zbivanja. Analizom sadržaja i diskurzivnom analizom, utvrđeno je da Vlada Republike Hrvatske, komunicirajući o susjednim zemljama putem Twittera, ne koristi geopolitičke pojmove definirane s obzirom na geopolitički položaj Hrvatske, već koristi diskurzivne kategorije određene kontekstom trenutačnih zbivanja. Rad predstavlja solidnu polazišnu točku za daljnje definiranje i utvrđivanje geopolitike društvenih mreža u sklopu kritičke geopolitike, kao i osnovu za daljnja istraživanja u ovom novom praktično-popularnom geopolitičkom području.

Abstract (english)

This paper introduces an unfamiliar concept in geopolitical science so far – geopolitics of social media. The intersection of practical and popular geopolitics, as a variant of critical geopolitics, was taken as a main theoretical framework in the analysis of tweets of the Croatian Government in terms of communication on bilateral relations with neighbouring countries. Given the lack of research regarding geopolitics of social media, a methodological approach was developed to explore communication about neighbouring countries in terms of defined geopolitical concepts and in terms of contextually defined categories of discourses. Content and discourse analysis showed that Croatian Government, when tweeting about neighbouring countries, doesn't use geopolitical concepts defined regarding geopolitical position of Croatia, but uses categories of discourses defined by the context of current events. This paper presents a solid starting point for further defining and identifying of geopolitics of social media within critical geopolitics, as well as the basis for further research in this new aspect of practical and popular geopolitics.
